6’7 Forward 2021
High School: Eden Valley-Watkins
Six-foot seven-inch 2021 forward Joshua Streit anchors the Eden Valley-Watkins defense. If it wasn’t for Josh taking pride in defending the rim and defense as a whole, it’s quite possible EVW isn’t 22-1 on a 22 win streak. Along with the approximate 14 rebounds Streit averages per game he swats a couple shots a game.
Streit is a standout on offense doing most of his damage on offense for EVW inside using his agility. While he’s a proficient scorer, he averages around 6 assists a game by helping spread the wealth for his teammates.
With getting some Division One looks, Streit is looking to up his profile this Spring and Summer by playing for D1MN for AAU.
Q: How’s the season going so far?
A: Really good at 21-1 but we play a tough team tonight.
Q: Who do you play tonight? How have you played individually?
A: We play Annadale tonight. I think I’m averaging like 22, 14, and 6 (they beat Annadale 46-44).
Q: Good numbers. What have you been doing you think that’s made you most successful?
A: As a team, we move the ball very well and everyone can play. For me, I move the ball well in the offense and can play inside or outside. And I can protect the rim.
Q: You take pride in protecting the rim being the last man of the defense making sure opponents don’t score?
A: Yeah we have one of the best defensives our class I feel like.
Q: Looking through games, you guys have given up 50 or more only 4 times. That one loss to Osakis, will you guys get an opportunity to face them again?
A: Yeah in sections we will probably play them. That game we were missing out best defender and he is also over 40% from 3.
Q: Who do you play AAU for? How does playing AAU differ from High School for you?
A: I use to play for Wear Out the Net but next year I will be playing D1 MN. I play a lot of inside in high school but AAU allows me to play outside where I’d rather be.
Q: How has recruiting been going for you?
A: It’s been going pretty well. I have low majors and mid majors talking to me like UNI,SDSU, Utah State and the University of California.
