Q: How’s the season going so far?

A: Season is going well as can be expected. Hakim and I are the only returning Varsity players from last year. We have a young team and new coaches. Big difference from last year finishing 21-5 to currently being 14-9.

Q: How have you played?

A: I have been playing really good. 15.6 PPG, 5.1 AST, 4.1 reb, 2 steals per game.

Q: What have you done to try and bring the younger players along? Has there been a big difference in coaching from last year to this year?

A: I just encouraged the players to trust the process and give advice when I can. A lot of them have watched me play for the past few years. When I came in as a starting guard my Sophomore year! I started and it was still a process. I had to wait my turn, play hard and go out and play hard every night to stay on the floor. Play defense and play for the team is the best advice I can give.

Q: How’s recruiting going for you?

A: Recruiting has be going okay for Basketball. I have had a handful of Private colleges like St Olaf, Bethel, Oak Hills, Northwestern and a few D1 JUCO. For track I have talked to  3 NCAA D1 schools and a NAIA.

I have been accepted to Grand Canyon for academics and will be doing a overnight in April. I haven’t really reached out to schools yet. Just starting that process as we start. I will be running for Providence following Basketball season.

Q: Do you want to run track in college?

A: I’m open to doing either. I prefer basketball.

Q: 3.6 GPA is really good. Academics have always been important for you?

A: Yes. I also have been taking PSEO classes for my 2nd year. I am in national horror society and in the principals club. Academic’s come first to me. I’m going to Mexico on a mission trip in March.
